And that's the way... lot of floatation for too much weight, this is the result of the very first massive try of 70-23 alaia. Gettin' backside barreled is pretty much difficult, almost impossible, with an alaia. Next step is to built a hollow wooden alaia to keep same volume into the board but less weight. Coming soon. A lot of people interested in this work unless they have not get on a ride with. NICE!
ALAIA STOKED!
Old Times. New Times. Yesterday I put my brand new shaped 70-23 alaia (7.0x18e.x1.25) into the waves and I was pretty stoked!
I figure out it was a bit too wide to really surf. Counterwise it works quite fine as the waves were not so good for this kind of board.

A friend of mine stood up few times too, better than me for sure, and liked the feeling of the board. It's still pretty heavier than average as its wider and longer shape but it's floating well, better than expected. Deck concave works pretty good and keeps feet on the track as the board easy rotate on those little walls. Frontside surfing only allowed, as it's pretty hard to go backsiding with this kind of plank. Next step is harder and it's about learning how to really control this board.

Ready-steady-Coffee

Cafè_racer from Kawa Z400 is up to be finished too. Long Time started, this project is pretty on the go as it's hard to find a lot of time to spend on motor tuning, as we need new engine starter and carburator to let it go on tracks.

5.2 New Mini-Simmons is on the run. We spent a lot of time to figure out a light concave bottom instead of a deeper one. Single-to double should be the best solution with half moon parallel single-foiled skegs.

The Second project it's about a 5.6 fishy-style board thinner and narrower than usual, hard foiled rails. Coming with more pictures as those boards come to an end. Last picture on right shows it compared to classic lis-styled fish.

Uhff..! Brand New ALAIA actually finished and oiled! Anything more to do than waiting for some waves to put it in the water! This baby is pretty wider and longer than other and  I hope it will run for good in small summer surf. It's 7.0 long and about 18 and something wide. Parabolic rails and swallow tail. Nose rails are rounder like a fish and full concave run all thru the bottom. Concave deck to "feel" the water and to reduce thickness too. 23 means "the magic number" - asshole power.

I got a lot of space to put in here some memories: this Forte dei Marmi's Grand Hotel, beginning of XX century, liberty style architecture. What do you think is missing in this picture? A good old piggy board aside the great buggy?! Anything better than one like the following: 9.8 feet of terrific pleasure!

WAITING FOR PASTA...

[Carving Society][burning wheels to slide away]

Why can't we write down some lyrics for a new song while we do slide and wait for dinner? Don't you know you lie while sliding away... away... away... Don't call me back when you are so sad, but angry with those world you've seen thru your morning glasses... while sliding away... away... away...
